Responsibilities
- Project a positive, helpful and professional attitude to our customer. Meet or exceed customer expectations of repairs at all times.
- Ensure customer is met and greeted immediately upon arrival. Answer phone calls politely and identify yourself.
- Listen and document customers’ needs, review after written to ensure accuracy, give customer an estimate for repair, or flat rate for repair, advise customer of any additional costs of repair.
- Discuss and define with customer terms of repair.
- Assist with assigning repairs to body technician qualified to make repair.
- Issue copy of work order to body technician.
- Ensure body technician reads and understands repair as written.
- Document time allowed on repair order, to complete repairs.
- Review body technicians progress of repair.
- Review and quality check repair, test drive as needed.
- Review inspection form completed by body technician, put copy in unit.
- Follow guidelines.
- Review open repair order report weekly, follow up to make sure RO’s are closed as soon as work is completed.
- Maintain a clean, safe and presentable service area.
- Maintain all shop equipment in operational order, follow proper procedure for replacement of any inoperable or unsafe shop equipment including ladders.
Assist in Supervising body shop technicians and provide assistance and training as needed
Assist in analyzing repair estimates with technicians
Assist in the supervision and flow of vehicles through the Collision department
Dispatch work to appropriate teams and or departments
Must have prior automotive technician or military equivalent experience
Associates in Automotive Technology, Collision Repair or a related degree preferred
Skill/Requirements
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Position is based in a normal shop environment. Frequent physical activity such as kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to push/pull parts carts and cars with assistance.
